Here are some essential free tools that will help make the effort of optimizing your websites for search engines faster and more efficient. 1. Good Keywords (http://www.goodkeywords.com/) - As the name implies, this is a tool for helping you find good keyword phrases. The very first step of optimizing a site for search engine traffic is to select your target keyword phrases. You have to do this before you do anything else. Link Popularity Checker (http://www.marketleap.com/publinkpop/) - Website that lets you quickly check the number of backlinks pointing to your site, with results from Google, Hotbot, MSN, and Yahoo. 7. Google PageRank Indicator (http://www.google-pagerank.net/) - Find out your site's Google PageRank even if you do not have Google's Toolbar installed. Also, download code that will display your page rank on your site to users who don't have Google's toolbar. 8.
