1.Title of website

When you have decided upon which keywords which to optimize your website for ( Read my 10 steps to choosing the perfect keywords www.webmaster-files.com) then you can start to optimize your webpages for those keywords. First thing to do is to include the keyword for the page within the title of the page. Eg Hanging Flower Basket | Garden Design. This would be the title for one of the pages of a garden website. Please notice the use of "|" rather than the word "and". The more words within your title tag the less weight they will have in search engines so cutting the word "and" out will increase the weight of the other words. Also notice the above example would be for three main keywords, Hanging Basket, Flower Basket, Garden Design. As you can see I have combined hanging basket and flower basket into one phrase cutting out one of the "basket". This will also save words. Another thing to remember when optimizing a website is to choose different titles for each subpage of your websites, including in each relevant keywords.

2.ALT Image Tags

Apply the alt image tags for each graphic on your page. Including within these alt image tags your keyword. Eg. Hanging basket image. Add the "image" or "graphic" within the alt tag to decrease the look of it being spam. The alt image tags will be read by search engine spiders and also are needed to validate the coding of your website.

3.Bolding Text

Try to include your keywords throughout content on your webpage. When you have done this "Bold" or "Italic" the text. D
